2012-2014

Lived and worked at Dhanakosa Buddhist Retreat Centre in Scotland. My work included bookkeeping, reception/customer services, maintenance (plumbing, decorating and gardening etc.). I also helped with projects, research and preparation, the main one was the installation of a biomass boiler.

While at Dhanakosa I supported and helped organize a number of the Photography and Meditation Retreats (usually two a year) and have continued to do so since leaving. I have also supported Meditation and Hillwalking and Meditation Retreats.

2011

Did a six week door knocking appeal in London for the Karuna Trust, a charity working with the 'untouchable' community in India.

1994-2009    

Worked for Windhorse Trading Ltd: Ipswich Evolution Gift Shop (1994-2009) part time and casually; at the head office in Cambridge (1997-1999) full time, doing warehouse work, admin and customer services and Hammersmith (London) Evolution Gift Shop (2003/2004) full time where I was the merchandising manager.

I have also helped out at Triratna Buddhist Community classes, participated in their study programmes and written for Urthona, their arts magazine, on Chris Drury and Tate Modern.

1995-2003    

Volunteered and worked casually for Christchurch Mansion and Ipswich Museum as a Museum Assistant, assisting in security, conservation and exhibition work; Ipswich.

1999-2001

Helped Suffolk Interfaith Resource by manning reception, I also gave a talk on Buddhist art and wrote an essay entitled 'Buddhism Through Its Arts' for a religious studies course.
